The days of dark seem to linger
as the light of your presence has faded.
I sit inside my cave
bathed in the blindness that has befallen me.
In the darkest dawn’s, I lie awake
as the touch of your skin still burns a hole in my existence.
Your eyes haunt my vision
as they continue to sink deeper into my soul.
I still sit in my cave
bathed in the blindness that has befallen me.
Promises made shall be fulfilled
as I fight my instincts and run to you.
For the blindness that has befallen, I leave my cave,
bathed in the light of your existence.
