I was sitting on my porch
with the awning drawn back;
Wishing for my life,
to cut me some slack.
Wishing for this day
to be better than the last;
Thinking of all the lies,
I have told myself in the past.
Wishing on the sun,
and the earth to lend;
Some happiness to me,
before the sonnet should end.
So this one little droplet
greets me from above;
Running down my face,
with a whole lot of love.
And the rain did fall,
sweet showers cold,
to make me warm inside,
while my body she holds.
And I’m happy, while she cries
her tears for my thirst;
And happy she is,
shielding me from the worst.
She made it rain,
she made it rain,
she made it rain.
On my head,
in my heart,
from her eyes,
on my pain.
She made it rain,
she made it rain,
she made it rain.
And now I’m sin-gin’ in the rain
and my heart just the same
with the bold and the tame
I’m sin-gin’ in the rain,
I’m sin-gin’ in the rain,
I’m singin’
in.. the.. rain…

It sounded like a song, and for two best things : rain and women! π
