Little drops of water
scattered across my window
shimmer like starlight from the street
Some slither away
as new ones come to stay
dancing to the storm’s beat
A silent night
placid withers
as violent winds rage on
Rattle my windows
disturb my slumber
as the sun manages to break dawn, barely
The storm outside
keeps me awake
tries to break into my home
My rain-soaked windows
protest along
as I try to gain control, and some rest
I watch now, in silence
these droplets torn
as I gaze at them from my nest.
